The Energy Office is charged with helping Florida build an energyefficient economy through programs to encourage energy conservation and promote the use of alternative energy sources. It also compiles statistical data on energy supplies and forecasts Florida's energy use. The office is funded with federally administered funds for state energy conservation programs and conservation in schools and hospitals.
